Pie Kia - pastry shop

Walking around Tiong Bahru Plaza and saw this shop outside the shopping complex itself. The name of the shop caught my attention - Pie Kia (means "bad guy" in hokkien). Haha... obviously, they are selling variety of pies... the price for a normal standard size of pie (see pic down here) is S$1.50, there is this "Tua Pai Kia" which is bigger but costs S$2.50. .. their salads are named "chin cai"... kinda cool i can say but nothing much in the shop. They do serve salads, soups & pies... the drinks are canned drinks like coke, sprite etc. Not that special.

I ordered for a curry chicken pie and a roast chicken pie... but that lady gave me two roast chicken pies.. :( i was pretty unhappy bout it... sien!

The pie is pretty small... i think Max has to eat a dozen to fill his stomach full. keke... :P

The filings are nice and juicy (everything is minced, cant really see what i ate, haha), it would be great to have it in the shop itself. Coz i bought it home (maybe after 30mins of purchase but its still hot) and ate... guess what the pastry has turned a bit soggy and its top skin came out... :(

if you ever try Pie Kia, make sure u eat it at the spot!

while i was doing work in office, my attention is on the swimming results... my favourite sports is still swimming :) and i wasnt surprised that Phelps has got his 5th gold (until todate) in beijing , perhaps his dream might come true - to win 8 golds this time. However, by winning the 5th gold (with total of 11 golds in his olympics career), he is now crowned "the greatest olympian ever" in the olympics games history. wow... it's amazing...

i wonder how he could swim this well... and this fast. at first i was so unwilling to acknowledge Phelps' success until he wiped off Ian Thorpe's world records!

i remembered i rush to university union building to grab the stamps on Ian Thorpe (Sydney Olympics 2000) (when i was in tasmania) when it released, i have full collections of it! lol... and for the Athens Olympics 2004, my friends in OZ sent the stamps to me... kekeke... i used to keep them in my purse! ha!

Ian swimming... (and guess what, becoz i like Ian Thorpe, I purposely sign up swimming lessons, solely to learn to swim Freestyle in a more pro way... hahaha... eventhough i already know how to swim... can't believe that!)

however, i was so disappointed when Ian Thorpe announced his retirement in Nov 2006... coz i know i won't be able to see him swimming in Beijing... some news said due to his old injuries, broken ankle, wrist etc... dunno what's the correct cause... anyway, he is still the greatest OZ swimmer ever! Though Ian Thorpe was the history, he is still my favourite swimmer ever~ lol ;)

if you ever wanna try this Amici restaurant out, these 2 are the recommended ones. Pizza and the Squid Ink Pasta.... very nice. our mouths turned into black (like kena poisoned) after eating it.... 1st time trying, it's very impressive!!!
