Brotzeit - where sausages rule!

  • last friday was my colleague - elaine's birthday and 4 of us from the dept (boss, administrator, another counsel and myself) decided to treat her a birthday lunch at this german bar restaurant Brotzeit at vivocity.

  • the interior design of the place is pretty nice... especially the beer bar! oh well, nothing beats drinking a beer by the sea (looking out from the windows can see sentosa island in distance)... but we have to go back to office after the lunch, only the birthday girl ordered a mango beer... hehe.
  • wailoon came here before and he suggested 3 main dish will be enough for 5 of us... yea indeed the portion is considered big for 1 person... have a look what we ordered:-
deep fried pork knuckle. S$36 + 10% service charge + 7% GST
  • the pork knuckle is not on the menu but it is the signature dish of the restaurant. perhaps it is too "meaty" thats why it came with lotsa pickles and the pickled onions, a bit too sourish for those who doesnt like sour taste... the pork knuckle is not a surprise to me, pricey but not tasty... the mashed potatoes under it were quite good though. lol...
  • (i would recommend the deep fried pork knuckle in a chinese restaurant in JB, at Sutera Mall (B1 carpark area), only cost RM25 with the bigger portion compare to the above pic and it is very crispy and tastier! hehe)
sausage platter. S$32 + 10% service charge + 7% GST
  • i like the sausages! *thumbs up*~ they came in different flavours (garlic, chili, herbs, honey etc) and different meat (pork, beef, lamb)... really nice but i don't deny it is a bit too costly for 8 of them as the size of the sausages is not big at all.. :P

grilled chicken breast. S$22 + 10% service charge + 7% GST
  • it came with lotsa greens, but the chicken a bit tasteless though! anyone can just make it at home... hehe... we paid S$130 in total, 3 dishes + 4 drinks. a bit costly but it is a birthday celebration... a good exposure for german food in singapore!
  • and yes, i really like to blog about food, especially food that looks good and tastes really good! and i love to read food blogs too.. share with you my favourite top 3 food blogs, i wish one day i could take beautiful pics like them... :) enjoy reading! :)

my 1st scrapbook

i use the points i ve collected from my madewithlove membership card to redeem a "beyond beginner" workshop... lol... imagine how much money i ve invested in that shop... my favourite paper shop :)

i was late for the workshop... it started at 6:30pm but i only reached there 7pm... my office is too far out of town :( i didnt attend the beginner workshop and dare dare go for the "beyond beginner" one, many basic tools i dunno how to use... lol... kinda liuhan.

here are the freebies given... i never know there are so many tecniques i need to take note on choosing the color of the paper, matching colors etc etc... the instructor did help me in choosing the right papers (to match my shirt in the photo!)... i ve learnt a lot esp how to use those tools... hmmn... i guess i have to spend even more $$$ in the shop to get those tools for myself...

I used total of 5 color papers, can u identify which 5 papers? hehe... the total cost of that 5 papers already cost more than S$10 (with some leftovers), definitely this scrapbooking is not a cheap hobby!
and finally... tada~~~ it was done after 3hrs... the workshop ended at 10pm, tiring but a happy one! :)

fruitful friday!

last friday early morning i went to ICA to complete my PR formalities. Yea I can queue at the PR lane from now on... but it also means i cannot drive Msia car into Sg anymore... ICA is very efficient, i reach there around 8:15am (my e-appointment was at 8:30am) and everything was done by 9:35am! *salute their govt office*

after that i had lunch with colleagues at Uncle Sam @ Clementi, it was my 2nd time there and the food was good. you may find it is a bit pricey but what to do, claypot rice in a nice ambience cafe, ppl have to charge more for their renovation cost lah... but i was not shiok when the manager said i was not allowed to take pics in the shop... he must be thinking i wanted to take the food pics and spy on their recipes... argh. :(

Claypot Pork Ribs Rice S$8.50 (portion is big, enough for 2 girls) amazingly the pork ribs are so tender and nice... much nicer than their claypot chicken rice i can say. must try!

Claypot Tom Yam Rice Noodles S$6.50 (spicy! yum!) being a tom yam lover, i will rate this 3.5 out of 5 stars... hardly get spicy and tasty tom yam in Sg, oh well still room to improve!

** for caleb: it is spicy hot!!! it is good!!! hahaha... go to wing & co and buy a bottle of tomyam paste, add in chili padi and make your own! caleb is my chili padi kaki during our mission trip last yr... hehehe

celebrating eekiat's birthday in CG and i bought a dozen of pie kia to let everyone try... S$1 each for pie kia, S$3 for tua pie kia (i think they decrease the price). people compliment that the ham & mushroom ones are nice... compare to the roast chicken, beef stew etc.

pie kia is definitely insufficient for a hungry cg. haha, and i bought donuts from J Co too. while aaron and i were away to heat up the pie kias, the rest almost finished up the whole big box of donuts! arghhh... by the way, its birthday celebration but i didnt take any pic on the birthday boy, paiseh... hahaha... "__"

desmond fetch me from cg at 12am and we went to tesco plentong to buy the stuff for the needy. church is running this "Helping Hands" program to help the poor and being part of the church body, of coz we participate in it! mond and his friend and me, we contributed some rice, washing powder, soaps etc etc...

i didnt know tesco opens until 1am... surprisingly there were still people shopping, saw an aunty carried a tin of milo and queued in front of us... not a bad idea to open till so late though! it caters for last minute ppl like us... haha...wow... reach home 1:30am++ .... what a fruitful friday!
