Learn to walk away!

‘Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.’ Mark 6:31

One of the hardest things to do is ‘take a break’ without feeling guilty and selfish; or worse, feeling like a failure because everything on your ‘to do’ list didn’t get done.

Here’s a news flash: there will always be more to do! One of your biggest challenges will be learning the difference between setting high standards for yourself – and setting unrealistic, impossible ones.So what should we do?

Take time out. Jesus did. ‘Then the apostles gathered to Jesus and told Him all things, both what they had done and what they had taught. And He said to them, "Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while." For there were many coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat. So they departed to a deserted place in the boat by themselves.’ (Mk 6:30-32). Jesus understood the need for rest. So:

(a) make a list of the things that only you can do, then delegate the rest or let them go;
(b) learn to take small steps and celebrate small accomplishments;
(c) don’t allow the stuff that’s still undone, to undo you;
(d) strive for balance; don’t become addicted to what you enjoy;
(e) don’t compare yourself with others; work at your own pace;
(f) take time for the people who matter, otherwise you’ll lose them.

Busyness is a destroyer of relationships.
All the success in the world won’t compensate for the joy and treasure of your family and your loved ones!

Indeed, i feel that it is very important for us to maintain good relationships with our non-believer family or friends, serving is definitely important as well but busy in serving all the time, we might lose all these unsaved souls. Let us learn to walk away and make time when necessary!
